How to build a realistic Romania trip
1. Choose the priority regions first.
Start with the experiences that matter most, then choose the parts of Romania that deliver them. Adding regions first and solving travel time later is how routes become overloaded.
2. Count the whole transfer, not just the kilometres.
A travel day includes getting out of the accommodation, reaching the station or road, transfers, stops, parking or check-in, and the time needed to settle into the next base.
3. Treat seasonal routes separately from city routes.
A city may be straightforward to visit while a mountain road, trail or nature destination is highly seasonal. Do not let one good forecast or an old opening date define the entire route.
4. Let transport mode change the itinerary.
A route that works comfortably by car may be awkward by public transport, and the reverse can also be true in a city-first trip. Choose the transport logic before promising yourself multiple stops in one day.
