HOW THIS SITE HANDLES DATA

Last updated: September 12, 2026

This policy explains what limited personal data Travel Trove Tips processes when you browse the website or contact us by email, why it is used, how long it may be kept and what choices you have.

Who is responsible for your data

Travel Trove Tips is operated by Tibi as an individual. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@traveltrovetips.com.

This policy applies to traveltrovetips.com. It does not control the privacy practices of websites linked from our pages.

Data processed when you browse the site

Like most websites, the hosting infrastructure may automatically record technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include your IP address, the date and time of a request, the requested URL, referrer information, browser or device user agent, response status and diagnostic or security data.

This information is used to operate the website, deliver pages, maintain security, prevent abuse, investigate faults and understand technical performance. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable website and, where relevant, taking steps necessary to provide the page you requested.

We do not currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or other audience-tracking tools on the public site.

Data processed when you email us

If you contact us, we process the information you choose to send, such as your email address, name, message, attachments and the surrounding correspondence. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, identity documents, medical information or other sensitive personal data.

Email is used to assess and respond to your message, investigate corrections or source updates, handle image-rights or attribution questions, address security or legal issues and maintain a necessary record of the exchange. Depending on the context, the legal basis may be our legitimate interests in handling correspondence and protecting the publication, steps requested by you before entering an agreement, or compliance with a legal obligation.

Emailing us does not subscribe you to a newsletter or marketing list. We do not currently operate either.

How long information is kept

Routine email correspondence is normally retained for no longer than 12 months after the last substantive exchange. It may be kept longer when reasonably necessary for an unresolved rights issue, dispute, security matter, fraud prevention or legal obligation.

Technical server and security records are retained according to the operational and security schedules of our hosting environment and only for as long as reasonably necessary for delivery, diagnostics, security and abuse prevention. Retention may also be extended where evidence must be preserved for a legal claim or official request.

Cookies and similar technologies

The public site does not currently use analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies. It also does not currently offer public comments, an on-site contact form, public account registration or a newsletter signup.

WordPress may use strictly necessary cookies on administrative or login areas for authorized users. These support authentication, security and interface preferences and are not used to profile ordinary public visitors for advertising.

If non-essential analytics, advertising, embedded tracking or similar technology is introduced later, this policy and the consent controls will be reviewed before that technology is activated.

Service providers and international processing

We use Namecheap services for website hosting, email delivery and related infrastructure or security functions. A provider may process technical or correspondence data on our behalf only as needed to supply those services, maintain security, meet legal obligations or protect its systems.

Provider infrastructure and support may involve processing outside Romania or the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where data-protection law requires it, transfers must rely on an appropriate legal mechanism and safeguards. Provider practices are also governed by the provider’s own privacy terms.

We do not sell or rent personal data. Information may be disclosed where required by law, a valid official request, or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, protect security or prevent abuse.

External links

Our travel guidance may link to official destination, transport, accommodation, mapping, rights or research sources. When you follow an external link, the destination site may collect data under its own privacy and cookie practices. Review those notices before providing information to that service.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to access personal data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict processing, object to processing, receive certain data in a portable form, or withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

To make a request, email hello@traveltrovetips.com and describe what you need. We may request proportionate information to confirm your identity and prevent unauthorized disclosure. We aim to respond within one month, although the period may be extended where the law permits for a complex or numerous request.

You may also lodge a complaint with Romania’s supervisory authority, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), or with another competent authority where applicable. See ANSPDCP complaint information.

Children’s privacy

Travel Trove Tips is a general travel-information publication and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent personal data to us, contact us so the situation can be reviewed.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the current site, including controlled administrative access and hosting security measures. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please limit the personal information you send.

Commercial relationships and automated tools

Travel Trove Tips does not currently use affiliate links, sponsored placements, advertising tracking or an automated on-site contact form. If a future commercial or technical feature changes the way personal data is processed, the relevant disclosure and this policy will be updated before or when the change takes effect, as required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when the site, providers, legal requirements or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected here before or when the related processing begins, as applicable.
